Terry Garmon Obituary

Terry Michael Garmon, age 72, passed away Dec. 3, 2023 with his family by his side at Banner University Medical Center Tucson, from injuries suffered from an auto accident. He was a long-time resident of Tucson.

Terry was born in Bloomfield, Iowa on August 25, 1951, to Darrell and Lucille (Lanman) Garmon.

In 1954, the family moved to Pomerene, AZ., and he attended school there until 1958 when the family moved back to Iowa and settled in Carlisle. He attended Carlisle High School and graduated in 1969. Following graduation that year, Terry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps., proudly serving from 1969 to 1975.

In 1981, he moved to Casa Grande, AZ., for a short period and eventually he settled in Tucson in 1984. Most of his work history was in merchandising and food distributing. He loved attending a variety of sports events, watching them on TV at his favorite watering hole with his buddies or at his home. He was a diehard fan of the Green Bay Packers and of course, a huge fan of the University of Arizona sports program.

Terry was kindhearted and was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back if he had it to give. He was fun loving, outgoing, had a great sense of humor and loved kidding/joking around. He had two very special young men in his life Randy Woltz and Caden Jacoby, grandsons of his former wife Sherry Garmon.

Safely Home

I am home in heaven, dear ones. Oh, so happy and so bright! There is a perfect joy and beauty in the everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, safely home in heaven at last.

There is work still waiting for you, so you must not idly stand, do it now, while life remaineth – You shall rest in God’s own land. When that work is all completed.

He will gently call you Home; Oh, the rapture of that meeting. Oh, the joy to see you come!
