Iris Elsie (Duncan) Zyla

Iris Zyla, born December 17th, 1958 in Trier, Germany. She passed away unexpectedly on May 1st, 2023. She lived a full and vibrant life, leaving a lasting impact on all those who knew her.

Iris worked several careers throughout her life, but her most prominent were those of a cook and entertainer. She was a gifted chef, and her culinary skills were sought after by many. She even had the privilege of cooking for the celebrity Richard Simmons and catering expensive events at golf courses. But her favorite time to cook was during the holidays when she would bring her family together with her famous salsa and German stuffing. Iris also had a passion for fashion, and she frequently put on shows to showcase her talent. She was always thinking of others, donating money from her fashion shows to local women's shelters and food banks.

Iris was a single mother who raised her three daughters with unwavering strength and resilience. She faced the world with determination and grit, never backing down from whatever life threw at her. She was one of the strongest people anyone could ever meet, always accomplishing whatever she put her mind to. Her daughters, ReAnna, Rachelle, and Rayleahna, were her pride and joy. She loved them fiercely and was immensely proud of the people they have become.

In her free time, Iris loved riding motorcycles, feeling free and alive on her trike as she went on adventures with her club friends. She had a zest for life that was contagious, and her spirit will live on through those who knew and loved her.

Iris is survived by her three daughters and eight grandchildren, Stella, Isaac, McKenna, Charlie, Ben, Irabella, Sable, and Josie. Her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew her, and she will be missed dearly.

A Celebration of Life for Iris will be held on May 20th at 11am at the Triangle T Guest Ranch in Dragoon, Arizona. Her memory will be cherished by all those who were fortunate enough to know her. As she always said, "love you later!"
