Ofelia A. (Mendoza) Rivera

Lifetime Arizona resident, Ofelia A. Rivera, 73 years of age, passed away on Aug. 4, 2019, peaceful in her home surrounded by her husband and nine children. She was the seventh child (out of 12), born to Abel and Adelina Mendoza on May 28, 1946

Ofelia is survived by her husband Ramon of 45 years and her nine children: Adelina Benton, Jerry Brown (Sherry), John Brown (Sherri), Almeda Tyren, Kathy Kalpolkas (Joe), Christina McDonald, Ramon Rivera, Jr., April-Marie Rivera and Daniel Rivera (Evelyn) and her five siblings, Alex Mendoza, Pat Tenerio, Carlos Mendoza, Oliva Mendoza and Jennie Rigney.

Ofelia deeply loved her family and had a generous heart, often putting their needs above hers. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched and made an impact.

Services were held Aug. 9, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (arrangements by Richardson’s Remembrance Center), and graveside services immediately followed at High Street Cemetery in Benson, Ariz..
