Timothy Meador Obituary

Timothy Robert Meador, husband, father, grandfather, army veteran, Russian linguist, and database administrator, passed away from respiratory distress on May 4th, 2022 at 58 years old.  He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Udall Meador, sons Derek, Ryne, Robert, and Dawson, and eight grandchildren.

Tim was born June 2nd, 1963 to parents Robert and Judy Meador. His childhood and youth were spent in Eager, Arizona, where he met his wife, Kathryn. After Tim enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1981, he married Kathryn on August 13th, 1982. While stationed in Germany, Tim and Kathryn welcomed son Derek in 1983. Upon their return to the states, the two welcomed son Ryne in 1985, Robert in 1990, and Dawson in 1999.

While enlisted in the army, Tim earned several distinctions, including eight U.S. Army Achievement Medals, three U.S. Army Commendation Medals, three Meritorious Service Medals, a Kuwait Liberation Medal, and a Saudi Arabia Liberation Medal. His career resulted in travels across Russia, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Kuwait, Egypt, Hawaii, and Korea. A Russian and Serbo-Croatian military linguist, Tim participated as an interpreter during negotiations for The Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. He served his country with dignity and was honorably discharged in 2001 before beginning his second career in database administration.

Most importantly, Tim deeply loved his family. His wife and sons were the foundation of his life, the unchanging constant waiting for him at the end of each of his travels. He was present at every basketball game, football game, track meet, and wrestling match possible. In his final years, he was surrounded by a growing number of grandchildren who each adored their Pop Pop.

Tim’s memorial service will be held at the Benson Stake Center at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 7th. His remains will be buried at Eagar Cemetery on Monday, May 9th. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations and remembrances be directed to their Go-FundMe:
