Stephanie Ruth Haws, 59, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born February 2, 1967, in Provo, Utah, to Richard and the late Lois Jones, she was the third of twelve children.
Stephanie earned her nursing degree from Ricks College (now BYU–Idaho) and at age 21 served an 18-month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cochabamba, Bolivia, where she taught the gospel and served as a mission nurse. She later married the love of her life, Darren Haws. Together they built a family of eight children and 21 grandchildren, over 35 years of marriage.
A faithful disciple of Jesus Christ, Stephanie dedicated her life to God, family, and service. Even in her most difficult days, she consistently put others first—always asking how they were doing, offering genuine concern despite her own pain.
Her nursing career spanned many settings, including nursing homes, home health, school nursing, hospice, and CNA instruction. Her most beloved role was as a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) at Canyon Vista Medical Center, where she supported countless mothers and families until her health no longer allowed her to continue.
Stephanie loved traveling with her family, setting ambitious goals, and turning dreams into reality. She was steadfast, radiant, and an unfailing source of strength and light to all who knew her. She left this life confident in God’s plan of joy, eternal families, and everlasting happiness.
Her legacy of faith, resilience, and selfless love will continue to bless all who were touched by her remarkable life.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20th at 10 AM at 2100 E Yaqui St, Sierra Vista.
