Sonya Garcia

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sonya Garcia announces her passing on October 29, 2024.

Sonya was born on January 9, 1980.  She grew up in Benson, Arizona and graduated from Benson High School, where she loved cheering on the Bobcats.

Sonya is survived by the love of her life, her son, Eddie. Her parents Luis and Rosa Garcia; her brothers Luis (Jennifer), Ricky (Anna); nephews Julian and Sawyer; niece Isabel.

Sonya was a devoted mother who cherished every moment with her son, Eddie.  Her love for him was evident in everything she did from cheering him on at baseball, football, and basketball games to supporting him in all his pursuits.  

Sonya’s spirit and passion for life will be missed by many.  She loved children, helping students develop and grow was a passion for her. She dedicated much of her time working and volunteering in our local school districts.  

She will be remembered for her kindness and her loving caring way with everyone. 

Services will be at Our Lady of Lourdes, 386 E 5th Street, Benson AZ 85602

Visitation begins at 8:30 am, Rosary at 10:15, Eulogy at 10:45, Mass at 11:00, Interment to follow at High Street Cemetery, 750 S High Street, Benson, AZ 85602.
