Rodney Edsall Obituary

On Monday, February 8, 2021, Rodney Allen Edsall, loving Father and Grandfather, passed away at the age of 61.

Rod was born on June 17, 1959, in Grants, New Mexico to Harry and Rose Mary (Thomas) Edsall. They moved to Bisbee, Arizona in 1960. Rod graduated from Pima High School in 1977. He lived in Houston, Texas from 1981-1986. Rod moved to Arizona a year later and married Dora Sue Williams on November 6, 1987. They were together twenty five years and had seven children. He dedicated his life to his family.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Rose Mary; his son, Jude; and his grandson, Gideon. Rod is survived by his father Harry Edsall; his children, Susan Camp (m. Brandon, Hannah, Hadassah), Rebekah Kartchner (m. Joel, Samuel), Steven Edsall (Kaylee), Thomas Edsall (m. Amanda, Tyran), Salomie Lewis (m. Noah, Liam, Lacy), and Jacob Edsall; his siblings, Kari Simpson (Tucson, Arizona), Diane Clemo (m. Robert)(Helena, Montana), Robert Edsall (Springhill, Florida), and Guy Edsall (Bissbee, Arizona); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Rod loved building model cars, reading, playing Forza with his kids and grandkids, and traveling. He was able to visit all of the contiguous 48 states with his family and a lot of fascinating sites like the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, the Redwood Forest, Mt. Rushmore, and Old Faithful to name a few. Rod loved visiting lighthouses, and if there was a lighthouse along the way he had to stop and take a picture.

Rod was a wonderful brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend who touched the lives of all those around him. Rod was a sweet, funny, caring man who loved Jesus. Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose" was Rod's favorite scripture. He based his life on it.
