Robert Owen Jones

Robert Owen (Bob) Jones passed away March 22, 2023, in Benson, AZ. He was born in North Umberland, PA on April 21, 1941. He grew up primarily in Southern California and married his wife Dolores in 1965. Married 58 years, they have five children and 10 grandchildren. They moved to Tucson in 1974 and then to Benson in 1996. Bob was never a man to sit still. His career carried the spectrum of photographer, hobby shop owner, accountant, candle maker, model builder, Fender Guitar luthier, mechanic and antique vehicle restorer. He was an avid collector of all things automotive which included a passion for restoring and showing classic cars. He held a special sentiment for the Packard Motor Company and restored several throughout his years. Bob founded and served multiple terms as President of the Tucson Chapter of the Contemporary Historical Vehicle Association (CHVA) and had many friends throughout the collector car community. His love for the automotive field was shared with his children, teaching them all aspects of the industry. Bob was a kind, gentle man who was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Bob is survived by his wife Dolores and adult children Lisa, Robert, Kevin (Susanna), Keith and James Jones.

Thank you for your dedication to your work we are so grateful for your compassion, kindness, and love. God bless and be with each of you.

 There are many others, that we had the privilege to open our hearts and home to, whom we love. Bob and I cherished our prayer time together, sending prayers to God each night for all those who have come in and out our doors, plus prayer requests that seem an unending Thanksgiving of petitions to our Lord. Bob was truly a remarkable person, and his absence will be felt by us, for many years to come.

Services will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Parish in Tucson, Monday 4/10 at 10:00 a.m.
