Raymond Walter Cetner
February 20, 1930 – January 24, 2025
Raymond W. Cetner, beloved husband of the late Mary Ann Cetner, nee Lapszys, cherished brother of Dorothy Mroczek (the late Matthew), the late Irene Knasiak (the late Richard), the late Virginia Neder (the late Herbert), the late Florian Cetner (the late Nancy). Loving uncle, great uncle and great-great-uncle to many. Raymond, born and raised in Chicago, was in the Army Air Corps during the Korean War and was stationed in Arizona, California and Alaska. While in Arizona he fell in love with the weather and beautiful sunsets. It was easy to convince his wife Mary Ann of the same. He was also an amazing uncle that would arrange for annual vacations to Joe Miller’s Cottages in Park Falls, Wisconsin. These trips would always include numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was passionate about fishing and driving his beautiful wood boat for all the cousins to water ski. He and his wife Mary Ann were so fortunate to retire early and enjoy decades of Arizona together. He enjoyed occasionally going to the casinos and loved visiting with family and friends. As a retired carpenter, he was always happy to help others repair things around the house. His burial service will be Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 10:00am at the Southern Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Sierra Vista, AZ. There will also be a memorial mass on Saturday, March 8, 2024, at 11:30am at St. Daniel’s Parish, 5300 S. Natoma, Chicago, IL 60638. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association are appreciated.
