Patti Lee Shaheen, born September 28, 1954, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, gained her wings on December 14, 2023. Patti passed away peacefully in hospice care after suffering from a stroke. She was 69 years old.
Patti was a fighter. She spent many years suffering from a number of health issues, but she never stopped fighting no matter how sick she was. She was always determined to get through it and spend more time with her family. When anyone else would have broken, she stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience, perseverance, and strength truly look like. Just because Patti is no longer here does not mean she lost her fight…she is finally getting the break she deserves.
Patti was a stay-at-home mom for a large part of her life. When she finally returned to the workforce when her children were grown, she obtained her EMT certification and worked as an EMT/Fire Fighter both in Benson, AZ and for Rio Rico Fire Department. As a hobby, she drove stock cars on a dirt track.
Patti is survived by her ex-husband Frederick Shaheen and their two daughters, Melissa Lynn Newton (Shaheen), and Jacquelyn Clemmer (Shaheen) & husband Kristopher Clemmer, as well as her 5 loving grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Hailey, Christopher, and Michael, and many friends she considered family.
Patti is preceded in death by her father, John Jake Smith, mother, Phyllis June Smith, and brother, Jack Phillip Smith from Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
The family invites you to join them for a celebration of life at New Life Family Worship Center in Pomerene, on Saturday, January 27 @ 1:00pm. All are welcome. Her ashes will be scattered at a future date in locations she had previously selected.
