On January 20, 2026, Patricia L. (Gilmore) Rogers passed away in Tucson, AZ. Her brother, Tom Gilmore, and three nieces survive her. Following her Celebration of Life Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on February 25th, she will be side by side with the love of her life, W. Lane Rogers in City Cemetery on High Street, in Benson, AZ.
Pat graduated from Catalina High School, Tucson, AZ in 1971, where she participated in concert choir and drama. While pursuing her Degree in Communications and Public Relations at the University of Arizona, Pat was a member of Phi Lambda Phrateres, a sisterhood whose motto was: “Famous for Friendliness.”
In her sophomore year, Pat received an invitation from the Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity Brothers to become a member of their women's auxiliary group, Alethia Kai.
Pat and her peers were “Sixties and Seventies Chicks.” The girls worked hard to keep up with the current fashion scene. Bell bottom jeans, flowered shirts, leather jewelry, and sandals were standard campus fashions. Formal gowns were saved for Winter Ball or weddings.
If any sports reporter said: “CAT’S WIN,” it was a green light to “party-hearty” at the campus socials (including dancing in the streets!)
As an ambassador for NAMI, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Pat spoke to audiences, increasing their awareness and sensitivity about the serious life challenges that people with mental illness face.
Pat adored all her dogs and cats. She thought adoption or rescue gave pets better odds of finding permanent homes.
Pat generously shared whatever she had with whomever she could.
Throughout her 72 years, Pat experienced and coped with health setbacks of her own. Her quick wit, and perseverance skills taught her to buckle up, hold on and “enjoy the roller coaster ride” we call LIFE. That is exactly what she did.
You can donate to any charity you choose in Pat Rogers' name.
Instead of saying goodbye, her loved ones say, "See you later, Pat!"
God Bless you forever and ever, AMEN.
