Orville Wayne Scaggs, age 90, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024. Orville was born on December 16, 1933, to John Henry and Lucille Elizabeth Scaggs in Willow Springs, Missouri and was the 6th of 8 children. Orville was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War era and served proudly. He also worked in Civil Service and had a hobby as a cabinet maker.
His daughter, Rhonda, wrote this message to him. “Dad, there is not a day that goes by when I don’t think about you. All the times we shared together, and all the fun we had. I love and I will miss you each and every single day, you left a hole that no one can ever fill when angels took you away. I will hold onto the memories forever in my heart. I will always keep a piece of you, truly, never apart. I know you are in a better place with all your loved ones. Until we meet again. I love you! “
Orville is preceded in death by his wife, Esther Scaggs; children Randall Lee Scaggs and Joy Elizabeth Scaggs. He is survived by his children: John Wayne (Laurie) Scaggs of Texas; Rhonda Lynn (Blas) Ortiz of Colorado; Waylon Lee Scaggs of Georgia; Grandchildren, Michael Wayne Scaggs and Brandi Leigh (Jeff) Moses of Texas; Jennifer Mae Ortiz of Colorado; Great Grandsons, Kaiden Roberts and Dominic Vitale of Colorado.
Granddaughter, Jennifer Mae Ortiz, has planted a tree in her grandfather's memory.
Orville will be laid to rest at Southern Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, Arizona.
