Michael Ray Montroy

Michael Ray Montroy was born September 22, 1958, to Ray and Annie Montroy in Wiesbaden, Germany. He unexpectedly was called to heaven peacefully on February 23, 2022 in Benson, AZ.  Mike had the opportunity to travel to many parts of the world growing up in a military family with them settling in Benson in the early 1970s.  Mike attended school in Benson, raised his family, served his community and remained until his passing. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Joan Montroy, children – Michelle (Justin) Freeark of Greeneville, TN and Tiffany Montroy of Benson, AZ, three grandchildren that were his pride and joy – Grant and Jillian Freeark and Case Williams, a sister – Dee Montroy, and countless extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, father-in-law and a brother-in-law. Mike’s passing has left an emptiness in many, but he has left us with many warm and joyful memories.  He will forever live on in our hearts as the kind, fun-loving, generous man who never met a stranger.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 12, at 1 p.m. at Richardson’s Remembrance Center, 725 E. 4th Street in Benson, AZ.
