Luther David “Dave” Maggard age 88, of Richmond, KY escaped this mortal realm on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Dave is survived by his precious wife, Darlene Lambson Maggard of 64 years, who was the love of his life. His legacy includes 3 daughters Debbie, Delana & Danielle and his son, Derick, and their spouses. It also includes 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and his brother, Charles Maggard. Dave was greeted in heaven by his son David James “Jim” Maggard, his parents, Jim and Daisy Maggard and a host of loved ones. Before recently residing in St. David, AZ, for the last 9 years, he lived and raised his family in Prescott, AZ for 45 years. Dave retired as Planning and Zoning Director from Yavapai County after 32 years of service. He enjoyed yard selling, fishing, camping, and traveling with family. His most prized possession was his family. During every event with his family, he would state, “This is what it’s all about.” While we lost our beloved husband and father, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. He has been a rock to many, a master of witty humor, so many “One liner” comments and stories to share. No matter how he crossed your life, you were important to him, and he would always be by your side if you needed him. Dave’s commitment and deep love for his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a paternal “stand-in” father figure, and loyal friend was above and beyond any call of duty. Dave’s Celebration of Life will be held on June 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 640 W Patton St., St. David AZ 85630.
