Leo Bergeron Obituary

Leo Arthur Bergeron passed peacefully at home following a long illness. His sister Dorothy and good friend Ken Bledsoe by his side. He was born to William G Bergeron and Florence (Courteau) Bergeron in Uxbridge, MA on May 11, 1945.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife of 41 years Beverlee Anne Wold, his son Leo Jr, his step-son David, brothers Ronald, Raymond and Ernest and sister Doris Chippo.

He is survived by step-son Bela Balogh of Ayer, MA, daughter Florence Dodge of Detroit, MI, siblings William Bergeron of Woonsocket, RI, Beatrice (Larry) King of Douglas, MA, Albert Bergeron of Millville, MA, Richard (Rudy) Bergeron of Fitchburg, MA, Therese Dion of Grafton, MA, Dorothy (Stirling) Thompson of Whitinsville, MA, David (Kathy) Bergeron of Whitinsville, MA, Joseph Bath (Sheila) of Talladega, AL and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many good friends here in Arizona. 

As a young man he worked on the farm where his family lived in Uxbridge. He later worked on other farms in the Blackstone Valley. He did work at Prest-Wheel a factory job in Grafton moving to Gardener he worked many years as a lumberjack later moving with his wife to Athol, MA and ran a restaurant. He then moved to Arizona in 1993 where he worked and resided in Apache Mobile Home Park where he worked as a maintenance man. He later was employed by the St. David School District as a maintenance man from 1999-2010. A few years later became the crossing guard until 2021. Leo then operated a roadside stand selling locally grown pecans, pistachios and honey. Leo was well known and loved by the community who affectionately nicknamed him, "The Mayor of St. David."
