Kevin Lorin Haymore
July 2, 1969 – July 12, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kevin Lorin Haymore, a devoted father, grandfather, public servant, and proud Arizonan, who passed away on July 12, 2025, at the age of 56.
Kevin grew up with his siblings in Douglas, Arizona raised by parents Lavell and Arlene Haymore. At a young age, he helped his dad on the Castle Dome Ranch: a 13-section cattle ranch that helped develop his love for horses and the outdoors. He moved to Sierra Vista in 1984 and graduated Class of ‘87 from Buena High School. Kevin devoted two years to a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he gained a deep love for service and learned to speak fluent Spanish.
He served his community with courage and commitment as a law enforcement officer for 17 years — beginning with Safford and Thatcher Police Department for 2 years and then spending 15 years with the Avondale Police Department. During his career, Kevin served as a Detective, Sergeant, and Motorcycle Officer. During his career he was honored with a Life Saving Award for his heroic actions in the line of duty.
Kevin was a man of many passions. He loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles and helped found the Phoenix chapter of the Iron Pigs Motorcycle Club, a brotherhood of fellow law enforcement officers who shared his passion for riding. He was an avid hunter, where he built countless relationships with friends and family in the outdoors. He was also a loyal fan of the University of Arizona sports, the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Arizona Cardinals.
Above all, Kevin’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his children: Brock Haymore, Kasidee Haymore, Tyler Haymore and her husband Cole Hinzmann, and Travis Haymore. He was a proud grandfather to Brady, Brooks, and Britton Hinzmann, who brought him immense joy and pride.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Benson, Arizona, located at 381 N Pomerene Road.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Kasidee Haymore for her loving care and support during Kevin’s final stages if life.
Kevin will be remembered for his strength, service, and the unconditional love he had for his family, friends, and community. He rode hard, lived true, and loved deeply — leaving behind a legacy that will not be forgotten.
