Judy Catherine (Reyes) Cope

Judy Catherine Cope, 75, of Benson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026. Born on February 10, 1951, in St. David, Arizona, Judy was a proud lifelong resident of Benson, where she built a life centered around faith, family, and love.

Judy was known for her sassy personality, outspoken nature, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She had a heart for her family and church, and she found joy in cooking, baking, crafting, and traveling. Being “Nana” was one of the greatest joys of her life.

She is survived by her children, Salvador M. Cope and (Denise M. Cope) her grandchildren, Ashley M. Cope, Salvador D. Cope, and Sydney K. Cope; her stepchildren, Sue Ann Cope (Ernie Orgeron), Alesha Branson, Nikki Pittman, and Michael Cope Jr.; and her step-grandchildren, Katelynn Pellegrin (Trevor Pellegrin), Koryn Naquin, and Kaden Naquin.

Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Lee Cope; her parents, Francis Mendivil and Geronimo Mendivil; and her grandparents, Julia Gordillo and Salvador “Sarge” Gordillo.

A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Richardson’s Mortuary.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. 

Judy’s love, strength, and spirited personality will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
