John Williams Obituary


John Forrest Williams was born July 6, 1949 in Pocatello, Idaho to Allison Leeder Williams and Alice Lucille Gabrielson. He passed away December 27, 2020 from a long battle with cancer.  On July 1, 1968 he married his forever love, Joyce Staton. On June 6,1987 they were sealed in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple. John grew up in Black Rock, Idaho and graduated from Marsh Valley High School with a scholarship in music.  He played the Guitar, Trumpet, Tuba, French Horn, Coronet, Trombone, and Harmonica. He attended Salt Lake Community College  and had certificates in E.M.T. and Rapalling  Rescue, Cement Mason, Welding, and Bridge Construction. He grew up doing farm work and milking cows for his family.  He was a security guard for Burns Security at the Jim Bridger Power Plant, Point of Rocks, Wyoming, where he captured one of the FBI's most wanted. He worked 31 years for Union Pacific Railroad as a Welder, Construction and Remodeling Maintenance worker, Tunnel and Bridge Foreman which involved snow fence, crossings, building repair and removal, bridge building and repair, and train tunnel repair. He retired in 2004.  He loved to fish, camp, hunt, rock hound, spelunk, play the guitar, sing, dance, and play cards, and make people laugh. He loved using his skills to help others whenever he could and to build BBQ grills, smokers, and items for his home. John moved to Willcox, Arizona in 2009 from Urie, Wyoming.  He is survived by his wife, his sisters: Ramona Cornelison, Melinda(Ken) Slack, Alice Fae(Rod) Cornell, brother A. Dean Williams (Susan), brother in-laws Ray Avery and Neil Rieter..  Children, Jason (Tammy) Williams, Sarina (Ron) Kaller, Jonathan Williams, Kalen (LynnDee) Trimble. Grandchildren: Justin Williams, Christian Williams; Krystal (Brody) Kodele; Mackenna Sinclair ; Korinna (John) Farace; Daniel (Bea Allinson) Kaller; Harley Williams; Jennifer (Joey) Underwood, Samantha Trimble, Tyler (Chebel) Trimble; Tony (Mariah) James,  Kayla Johnson, Gerry Johnson, Jeffrey Michael (Crystal) Matenaer.  16 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Rosalie Rieter, Jenny Avery. Brother, LaMar Williams and sister in-inlaw Kathleen Williams, daughter in-law Lisa Williams.
Please, no flowers. John wanted donations to be sent to  to your local animal rescue in John's name. A Memorial to Celebrate John's Life will be held at a future date.  He asked that you remember him when you are camping, fishing, barbequeing, or out on your motorcycle.
