John Arthur Miller

JOHN ARTHUR MILLER - 19 May 1929 - 16 December 2023

It is with great sadness that that our family announces that John A. Miller, of St. David, Arizona, and a United States Army veteran of the Korean War era, has passed away at 11:33.am,16 December 2023, at Phoenix Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Phoenix, Arizona, after a long battle with cancer. He was 94 years old.

John was the third of nine children born into the farming Miller family in his Aunt’s house in the once little town of Peoria, Arizona. While he worked is entire life, he did manage proudly to complete 8th Grade at Littleton Elementary School, Cashion, Arizona, where he met his future wife, Anita Sunderland. As a life long Arizonan, he worked as a farmer, dairy man, truck and bus driver, and security at Apache Powder plant, St. David. As an avid gardener and farmer, he personally educated many his family members to be growers and caretakers of the land.

John is preceded in death by:  wife Anita and his son David. 

He is survived by: sister Karon; sons, Richard, RJ, Robert, Jack, and Jon. Twenty-three grandchildren and numerous great grand children. 

Graveside services will be at St. David Cemetery, with military honors provided by Ft. Huachuca Honor Guard, at 3:00pm, 27 December 2023.
