Jean Ann (Wick) Schmechel

Jean Ann Schmechel, 80, Benson, AZ, passed away, Thursday, June 20, 2024. 

Jean was born December 1, 1943, in Milwaukee, WI to Andrew Wick and Ruth Showan (Nee Nemitz). 

Wife of Roland George Schmechel and mother of two loving children, she passed from this world and reunited with her beloved husband just in time for their 62nd anniversary. In life, Jean had a passion for gardening, baking, and caring for animals. So much so, that she turned that passion into several successful business ventures. In her later years, she enjoyed working farmers markets and traveling together with her husband in their RV. After Roland’s passing, Jean went on to drive her RV into Benson, Arizona where she settled for the remainder of her days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roland, her parents, and stepmother.

She is survived by her sister Ruth Bizal, her daughter Wendy Nicolato, and her son Kenneth Schmechel (Pam).

Her grandchildren Nicole Nicolato, Lucas Schmechel, and Aaron Schmechel.

Step-grandchildren Seth Farnsworth and Savannah Kincaid (Jordan).

Great grandchildren Anthony and Asher.
