James Rebal Obituary

James Noel Rebal December 27, 1936- January 28, 2025

James “Jim or Jimmy” Rebal a current resident of St. David, Arizona and former resident of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho passed away at the age of 88 on January 28, 2025 after a battle with kidney disease. Jim was the son of Lula Nielsen and Fred Rebal and brother to David Rebal (deceased 2019) and Karen Rebal Troilo.

Jim was born in Santa Monica, California and grew up in La Crescenta, California where he was active in high school sports. He worked at his father’s store “Rebal’s Market” for many years while he was growing up. Jim had quite a sense of humor like his father Fred, and fit in perfectly at the market where the slogan was “Rebal’s Market–Have You Had Your Fun Today?.”

He married his Jr. High School sweetheart, Grace Mueller, in 1958 after serving in the Army for 3 years from 1955-1958 where he was stationed in Germany, and was discharged with an Honorable Discharge. He went on to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree from Arizona State University in 1962 in Business Management and moved his growing family back to LaCrescenta,California. He worked in Sales Management for his career with American Hospital Supply, Avon and Jafra. In 1980, he moved his family to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where he worked again in Sales Management with several companies.

In 1988, he and Grace moved to Scottsdale, Arizona where he would become President of Standard Printing for 10 years. In 1998, he and Grace moved back to Coeur d’Alene to retire and enjoy their senior years. Grace passed away in 2019 right before she and Jim could celebrate 61 years of marriage.

After a year on his own, Jim decided life was too lonely and he moved to St. David, Arizona to be with his daughter Kelli and her husband Craig Jones and their family. He lived in St. David until his passing on January 28, 2025.

He is survived by his sister Karen Troilo of Laguna Woods, CA, his children Kelli (Craig) Jones of St. David, AZ, James S. Rebal (Christina) of Arlington, OR, Kayci Rebal of Montesano, WA, and Jill Rebal of Costa Mesa, CA. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

A small memorial service will be held for him in Coeur d’Alene, ID on February 8, 2025 at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. 4th St. at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
