James Allen Moore, 76, of Pomerene Arizona, passed away on April 9, 2020. He was born on June 4, 1943 in Inkster Michigan to Wade and Dorothy (Skiver) Moore. He graduated from Taylor Center High School in 1962. Following graduation, he served the US Navy. He received the National Defense Service Medal for his work at the US Naval Station in Long Beach California. In 1966 he moved back home to Michigan where he worked as a store manager for Winkelman’s Department Store in Taylor, MI and eventually retired in 1996 from McLouth Steel Corporation in Trenton MI. After retirement he relocated to Pomerene Arizona to enjoy the atmosphere of the Southwest.
He was well known for his kind and compassionate spirit. James was also known for being a wonderful father and family man. He was an outdoor enthusiast and loved to golf in his spare time. He played softball on a league for many years and coached when his children were playing.
James was preceded in death by his father Wade Moore, his mother Dorothy Fischer, his brother Russel and his wife Jeanne Moore. He is survived by the mother of his children, Gloria Moore of Lincoln Park, MI; his children, Trisha Marie Moore of Flat Rock, MI and Michael Allen (Wife - Tanina) Moore of Southgate MI; his grandchild Loren Nicole Martino of Wyandotte, MI; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Keeping with James’ giving spirit, his viable organs were donated to others. A memorial service will be planned at a location to be determined in Michigan, when family and friends are able attend.
