Sgt. James Riley Monroe (of St. David, Arizona) was born on August 4, 1943 in Gillett, Arkansas and passed away at home on February 27, 2021. His late parents are Herbert Monroe and Mary Sisem. His family moved from Arkansas when he was 10 and relocated in Bisbee, Arizona. James was in the army from 1961 to 1974 and served his Country during the Viet Nam War. He was wounded on October 31, 1966. After leaving the army, James became a truck Driver.
James is survived by his wife Barbara, his brother Clifford of J6 Ranch, his sister Ellen Jackson of Tucson, his nephews Crosby and Kay Stephens of DeWitt Arkansas, Danny Jackson of Colorado, Joseph Stephens of Louisiana; nieces June Luna of Tucson, Cindy Hornbrook of Florida, stepson Cody (Christiana) of St. David; daughter-in-law Nikkie and grandson Charlie of Reno, Nevada. James was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Mary Monroe; brother Tommy; sister Dorothy and stepson Cassidy.
