Rev. Jim McCaw passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. He was born August 22, 1945, in Chicago to Forrest and Betty McCaw. His parents and his only sister, Bonnie, predeceased him. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Diane, and many nieces and nephews. He had a special bond with his nieces Paula, Alisha and Megan. He was a minister and teacher for more than 35 years at the Chapel of Awareness Spiritual Church. In addition to his spiritual calling, he had many hobbies and interests, including astronomy, art, science, nature, birding, gardening, photography, and music. He was an accomplished painter, woodworker and wood carver. He took piano lessons for the first time - while in his 70’s. He was a renaissance man, a life-long learner, a do-it-yourselfer and was always curious about everything. He had a steady, thoughtful and calm presence, and was a good, kind and caring person. He brought understanding and compassion to his students at the church and to everyone who knew him. He loved being a teacher and a minister, and helping people find their best pathway in life. He made a positive difference in the lives of so many people, which will be his amazing legacy.
