James C. “Jim” Bradford passed away peacefully in his home in St. David, Arizona, on November 11, 2023, surrounded by his wife Vickie (Stiles) of 58 years and other close family members. He was born in Searcy, Arkansas on June 5, 1942, the son of Karl and Nobie Bradford. Jim graduated from high school in Duncan, Arizona in 1958, and he and his family moved to St. David in 1976.
Jim proudly served for four years in the U.S. Navy until 1964 and afterwards in the Navy Reserves until 1987. He was enjoying retirement, after over 40 years in the communication industry. The highlight of his typical day was coffee at 7am with his friends. He loved baseball and watching his kids and grandkids play sports. He wanted his boys to be baseball players, which they both succeeded in. Jim is survived by a brother Nick Bradford of Henderson, Nevada; son Shawn Bradford, granddaughter Ashley and grandsons Dylan and Brooks of Tucson, Arizona; son Troy Bradford and Pam of St. David, Arizona; grandson Shane Bradford and Danielle of Vail, Arizona; and granddaughter Kayla and Jeremy Stafford and two great grandchildren Bryson and Adalyn of Lordsburg, New Mexico.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at the VFW, 233 E. 5th Street in Benson, Arizona, from 2-4pm on Sunday, November 19, 2023, and Interment Service at Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1300 Buffalo Soldier Trail in Sierra Vista, Arizona, at 11am on Monday, November 20, 2023.
