Helen A. Alward, age 64 of Benson (formally of St. Louis Michigan), passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at her home. Helen was born in Carson City, Michigan to Donald and Jeane Alward on January 11, 1957 and was one of seven children. She worked as a food service worker at Benson Unified School District.
Helen loved to travel, cooking and spoiling her grandchildren every chance she could even though they live in Michigan. She would always send packages with goodies for them. Helen came off tough, but she had a very big heart and would help anyone in need; whether it was cooking them food, getting their mail, or simply just being there as a friendly ear to listen. However, she would always give you her honest opinion, regardless of whether it hurt your feelings or not.
Helen is survived by her son, Brice (Amanda) Alward of Sumner, Michigan, 5 grandchildren; Braedyn, Alexander, Jasmine, Orion and Elliott; 4 siblings; Ron (Julie) Alward, Beverley (Charlie) Smith, Barbara Frederick, and David Alward. She had many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; Donald and Jeane Alward her brother Arthur Alward and her foster brother Fred Lonergan.
There will be a private family service held at a later date in Michigan.
