Helen Rose Adams, a longtime former resident of Maple Falls, the beloved daughter of Steve and Eva Adams and little sister of Patricia Adams was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 5, 2023. She was born on October 7, 1998 in Portsmouth Virginia. Helen was a fighter before she was even born as she was the 14th unborn baby in the history of the world to have in-utero surgery for Spina Bifida. She is finally pain free and running and jumping in Heaven. Helen had an infectious smile that everyone loved. She was kind-hearted with a little attitude to boot. Even though she suffered a life of pain she always wanted to do things to help others. She loved to volunteer at Birchview Memory Care Center in Sedro-Woolley. She would comfort the residents, participate in activities, hold hands and sing to the hospice patients and she had the ability to get the residents to take their medications when nobody else could. She graduated from Mt Baker High School in 2020 where she was loved by her teachers and friends. Helen participated in choir and several school plays including Footloose. She attended CTK Skagit and loved to worship the Lord with her beautiful voice. After moving to Arizona with her family in 2022 she attended New Life Family Worship Center where she continued to love God and bless other with her kindness and she was a member of the prayer shawl committee. She would spend countless hours at home working on prayer shawls for people who were suffering. Helen's hobbies included knitting, diamond painting, coloring, bowling, dancing and watching movies. Some of her favorite movies included God's Not Dead, Top Gun 1 and 2 and Tombstone. Helen made friends with the actors who perform the re-enactment of the gunfight at the OK Corral in Tombstone. They became quite fond of her and would never turn down a hug, long talk or having her picture taken with them. Some our favorite memories of Helen include her first steps (we were told that she would never walk), catching her first fish, playing around with her big sister, holding her nieces as infants, family get-togethers, making smores by the campfire, hearing Helen's laughter and watching her play in the snow which was usually deeper than her. Helen loved her pets. Whether she was at home or out in town you would find her with one of her two dogs on her lap or her shoulder. She left behind Penny, her Maltese, Moo-Moo, a Chihuahua, Blaze, her bearded dragon and Snowflake A.K.A. Ghost, her Albino Leopard Gecko. Her passing has left a huge hole in the hearts of all who knew her, especially her family. It is only by God's grace and strength that we will be able to carry on without her. Helen is survived by her parents, Steve and Eva Adams, sister Patricia Pinard, (Joshua), nieces Rileigh and Kayleigh with a new one on the way, grandparents Buck and Ursula Adams, Maggie Vail, Kathleen Allard, her biological grandmother Dee Scheffler as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Helen was preceded in death by her Uncle Jerry Allard, Grandfathers Ted Vail and Gerard Allard. In lieu of flowers please consider sponsoring a child through Compassion International as Helen was a sponsor of a child in Haiti. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be held in Benson, Arizona.
