Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at St. James Catholic Church in Coolidge, AZ for Gloria Flores who died on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. A rosary will precede the mass at 10 a.m. at the same location. Masks are required by St. James Catholic Church due to the ongoing pandemic.
Gloria was born in Morenci Arizona to Esiquel Rodriguez and Rose Nafarette Rodriguez. In her youth, she was a part of her local Girl Scout Troop that traveled across the United States where she was invited to the White House to meet President Eisenhower in 1953. In 1956, she graduated from Coolidge High School where she was a part of Girl Scouts, the twirling team and a drummer in the marching band. Gloria then furthered her education at Lamson Business College graduating in 1958. In the early 1960’s Gloria and her family moved to Benson, AZ where she spent many years as active members of the community. In recognition of her service to the city of Benson, she was honored as Woman of the Year.
Gloria worked at Northwest Medical Center as a financial representative for 22 years where she was a fierce advocate for patients, making sure that insurance companies paid what they owed. In 2013, she retired and had more time to do the other things she enjoyed like spending time with her family and traveling the world. Some of Gloria’s greatest joys were watching her kids’, grandkids’ and great grandkids’ every accomplishment. She also took great joy in cheering on the University of Arizona Wildcats and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
She is survived by her brother Angel Rodriguez (Dora); Her children: Rosemarie Flores Saenz, Kathy Flores Bell (Michael), Herman Flores (Anita), Marilyn Rogers (Larry); Her grandchildren: Alisha Lindsey (Matt), John Bell (Suzanne), Amy Davieau (Michael), Lizzie Bell, Alicia Bell, James Castagnaro, Tommy Castagnaro, Tara Flores, Mikaela Fontana, Anthony Cariseo, Larry Rogers (Amanda), Brandon Rogers (Caroline); as well as a host of wonderful great-grandchildren.
