Duane Allan Janssen was born on December 5, 1949. He transitioned to eternal life on August 22, 2024.
Duane Janssen lived in Arizona since 1962. He lived in Benson since 2020.
His cause of death was colon cancer and acute liver failure.
Duane was born in Mankato, Minnesota
Blue Earth County to Reinold and Adeline Janssen. He was married to Jean Janssen for 10 years.
Duane was employed as a Yavapai Deputy Sherriff and a private investigator in Phoenix, Arizona
He also was a high school teacher for the Phoenix Union High School District and the Glendale Union High School District. In his later years, he was a Pastor with the National Association of Christian Ministers to the homeless in Phoenix. Arizona and the Southwestern United States.
He received a BS Degree from Arizona State University in 1978.
Graduating Magna Cum Laude in Education and American History. He also earned an honors Doctor of Divinity degree in 2014.
Duane is survived by
Jean Janssen, his wife; Rodney Janssen. his brother and Darla Janssen Lammers, his sister.
He also is survived by his nephews Kurt Lammers, Keith Lammers and Luke Lammers. Duane is a great uncle to Lily and Lars Lammers.
He loved people and he loved to help them. Duane will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his generous spirit and kind heart. One of his favorite mottos was "Always be prepared."
A Celebration of Life with Luncheon to follow, will be held on Saturday September 21, 2024, at 11:00am being held at the Peace in the Valley Lutheran Church 551 S J6 Ranch Road, Benson, AZ 85602.
