Dale D. Tapia, 66, of Dragoon, Arizona passed away suddenly on February 26, 2023.
Dale was born on November 14, 1956, to Henrietta M. and Jose S. Tapia in San Manuel, Arizona. He graduated from Benson Union High School in 1974.
Dale married Elizabeth Ann Edge in 1978. Lisa and Dale went on to have three children, Lori, Joe, and Daniel.
Dale enjoyed metal detecting, gardening and working in his yard, and exploring the natural world. He could fix anything that was put in front of him, enjoyed growing new vegetables, and experimenting with growing native shrubs and trees. He was renowned for his beans and ham hocks which fed many kids in Dragoon over the years and for his beautiful Lady Banks roses.
Dale was predeceased by his parents, Joe Tapia and Henrietta McNair; his wife, Lisa; and, his son, Joe. He is survived by his daughter, Lori Ybarra (David); son, Daniel; sister, Sandra Fraser (Cleve); brother, Dan Tapia (Cindy); grandchildren, Ana and Robert Ybarra, Kaylie, Tristan, and Madison Tapia; nephew, Roy Tapia (Cindy); niece, Mindy Rivera and, his dog, Kerry.
His family will miss his prickly personality and his wicked sense of humor.
