Our dear mother, Consuelo Y Casillas, 96, entered eternal life on November 3, 2023. Consuelo aka Chelo was born February 18, 1927 in Bisbee, Arizona, where she lived most of her life. For the past twenty-nine years she has resided in Benson, Arizona. Where her beloved husband, Cornelio C Casillas (Corny) was laid to rest on January 18, 1995.
Mom was a wonderful, caring, nurturer, mentor and guide for both family and friends. She was a homemaker who loved people, crocheting, counted cross stitch, crafts in general, putting puzzles together, listening to music and dancing. She had countless other hobbies and pastimes, her favorite being spending time talking, laughing and playing games with family and friends.
Mom is survived by two daughters, Hope (Frank A.) Chavez, and Mary aka. Twinkie (Lupe W.) Diaz, eight grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mom was preceded in death by four brothers, and one sister: Pedro, Andres, Lupe, Abram Yanez and Hortencia Martinez.
Also preceding her in death were her husband Cornelio, one daughter Josephine (George) Chamberlain, one grandson, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
