In Loving Memory of
Carolina Acuna Mendoza
Entered Life ~ December 25, 1939 Entered Life Eternal ~ July 16, 2024 84 years old
Born in Douglas, Arizona, Carolina passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, in our home in Benson, Arizona.
She leaves behind four daughters, three sons, one stepdaughter and two stepsons. She also leaves behind nieces, many grandsons and granddaughters, also four great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters.
Carolina and I started communicating about six years after she lost her husband. In 1984, I came to Benson and stayed with one of my cousins. I would come to her house and have coffee in the morning. In about a week I went back to California, and we would talk on the phone. I proposed to her by phone and invited her to come to California. On November 10, 1984, we got married. One of her daughters, Virginia, and my daughter Debbie attended the wedding. After we got married, she told me that she had a dream of going over the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. Soon after I had her dream come true. She loved looking at the water but would never get on a boat. We lived in California for six years and then moved to Benson.
Rosary and Mass will be held August 9, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Benson, AZ. Rosary at 9:00am and Mass at 9:30amwith interment at South Lawn Cemetery in Tucson, AZ.
