Bertha Mae Hoopes, age 92, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of memories rooted in hard work, family, and simple joys. She was born on January 5, 1934, to Bert and Dessie Duke. She grew up in Wellington, Texas, alongside her nine brothers and sisters.
Bertha spent most of her life working in the restaurant business, where her strong work ethic and warm nature touched many lives. She took pride in her work and found joy in serving others, forming lasting friendships along the way.
Above all, Bertha cherished her family. She is survived by her daughter, Donna and George Smith of Pomerene, Arizona; her son, Rick and Brenda DePue of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and her beloved granddaughters: Amanda and Lance Fulcher of Pomerene, Arizona; TJ and Anthony Teague of Pomerene, Arizona; Holly and Heath East of Pomerene, Arizona; Taylor and Lance Bollenberg of Florida; and Taryn DePue of Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and happiness. She is also survived by two brothers and one remaining sister.
Bertha will be laid to rest alongside her mother in Wellington, Texas.
Bertha will be remembered for her resilience, her dedication to her family, and the love she shared so freely. Her legacy lives on in the generations she helped shape, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
