Thomas Maskill Stretch Jr. was born on August 1, 1935 to his parents Thomas M. Stretch, Sr. and Verna Garrison in Bridgetown, New Jersey. He passed away on April 20, 2019 at the age of 83. Tom, his sister Sue and his mother Verna travelled to Benson from New Jersey back in 1945. He and Sue spent much of their childhood in the Horseshoe Cafe where he assisted in placing the brands on the posts that are still there today. Tom met Carolyn Nance at the Benson Truck Stop and they were married in 1959. They lived in the apartment at the drive-in theater. Tom spent many years operating and repairing heavy equipment for multiple companies. He is survived by wife Carolyn; their two children, Kimberly (Terry) Guinter, Bradley (Tessy) Stretch; 3 grandchildren, Weston, Victoria and Reeves; his sister, Sue Taylor; his sister-in-law, Susan Nance; three nieces, Teri, Robbin, Barbara; and his cousin Betty Irsch from Pennsylvania.
