Louie Edward Fink

Louie Edward Fink, 90, a 61-year resident of Benson, entered eternal life on December 10, 2019, at his home.  Louie was born on March 19, 1929, in Indianola, Oklahoma to Leonard Lee and Daisy Mae Fink, the 4th of 7 children.

Louie was born into a farming family, working the farm with his father and brothers until he entered the US Army as an artillery specialist where he served from 1949-1953.  On January 27, 1951, he married the love of his life, Melba June Harshaw.  After his honorable discharge form the US Army, a desire for a better job to support his family brought them to El Paso, TX where he worked for the El Paso Natural Gas Company for 32 years.  After working the pipeline across to the California border, they settled in Tucson, AZ and in 1958 they moved to Benson.  In his retirement years Louie enjoyed traveling, woodworking and walking but still missed his many years of bowling.

Louie and Melba were blessed with five children: Judy (Roger) Thompson, Jerry (Lori) Fink, Janet (Pat) Teague, Joan (Mike) Montroy and James “Bebo” (Susan) Fink.  They had 12 grandchildren: Roger Thompson, Krista Thompson, Denise McCormick, Darrell Fink, Michelle (Justin) Freeark, Traci Fink, Tiffany Montroy, Jason Thompson, Anthony (TJ) Teague, Jared (Lauren) Fink, Dustin Teague, and Kylie Fink (Jesse).  They also enjoyed having 22 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Louie was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, his son Bebo, his parents, three brothers, two sisters and one special nephew.

He is survived by one brother, two sisters-in-law, four children, all of his precious grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 14, at 1 p.m. at Richardson’s Remembrance Center, 725 East 4th Street in Benson, AZ.  Interment will follow at Cochise Gardens of Rest.
