A Celebration of Life for LaVerne Weimer was held June 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Community Bible Church in J-Six.
Laverne was born in Stigler, Okla., March 6, 1929 and entered Life Eternal in Tucson, Ariz., April 15, 2019.
Her parents were John and Clara Spain, and she was the second of six children. When she was a child her family moved to Tucson.
LaVerne met Richard Weimer in 1941 when they were 12 years old, and they were married in her parent’s tiny living room on June 11, 1950 in Tucson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Virginia and Dolores, and her three brothers, Duane, Bud, and Jim (also known to many of us as “JC”; also welcoming her into Heaven, her great-grandson, Jaxson Weimer.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Weimer, her children, Rick (Evelyn) Weimer, Sandy (Butch) Scott, Glen (Rebecca) Weimer, and David (Sue) Weimer. She has eight grandchildren, Tami (Danny) Nikitas, Elizabeth (Dan) Mourfield, Kim Scott, Mary (Daniel) Scott, Sam (Tammy) Weimer, Aaron (Keara) Weimer, David (Chelsey) Weimer, and Terry (Amanda) Weimer.
She has 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
