Jerry Lee Moore was born on March 23, 1931 in Long Beach, California, where he grew up and then graduated from Jordan High School.
He enlisted in the US Air Force SAC where he obtained the rank of S/Sgt. He was a field electrical and hydraulics mechanic on B-47's and such. While in the service he was awarded Airmen of the Year, 1 Jan. 1955, to 31 Dec, 1955. He invented a hydraulics cart for use on B-47's which saved countless man hours of work.
His longest time of employment was with Compressor Service Company as the Service Department Manager. He was employed with them for 28 years. He was then employed by the Lake Elsinore Unified School District as a substitute custodian for several years, before he and his wife Emily moved to Benson, Arizona.
Jerry passed away at his home in Benson, Arizona after a lengthy battle with cancer on Saturday, May 12, 2018.
He is preceded in death by his parents: John Benjamin Moore and Myrtle Dora Hurley, his sisters: Nora Bagby, Mildred Andrews, Helen Tremboly, Betty Lou Kimmell, Marjorie McNeally and Barbara Shores; his brothers: Roy Moore, John B. Moore, Edward Moore and Donald Moore; his foster parents and foster brother, Lawrence Caulkins Jr., as well as two grandchildren: Jairess Hern (12) and Jared Morris (22).
He is survived by his wife Emily, his daughters: Deborah Garrison and Michelle Boyd (Bill), his sons: Edward (Kimberly) and Lawrence (Jonnie) Moore, twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his many friends and acquaintances.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the San Pedro Valley United Methodist Church, 636 S Highway 80, Benson, Arizona. Flowers may be sent to the church.
Interment arrangements are being directed by Richardson's Remembrance Center, Benson, Arizona.
